In the midst of the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic and the urgent challenges posed by climate change and the resurgence of nationalist agendas, the necessity for global governance norms and institutions to embrace greater openness, accountability, and equity has never been more critical. The Open Society Foundations (OSF) have long demonstrated their commitment to addressing these issues. Specifically, the OSF's Fiscal Governance Program (FGP) was established to confront the damaging impact of corruption, plutocracy, and populism on public finance management and economic policymaking, particularly in ways that harm the most marginalized and impoverished members of society.

The FGP initiative was active from 2013 to 2020. Upon the conclusion of this program, OSF enlisted the expertise of Intention 2 Impact (I2I) to conduct a comprehensive and multifaceted evaluation aimed at assessing the accomplishments of the Fiscal Governance Program (FGP) throughout the 2013-2020 period. This evaluation also sought to capture valuable insights and lessons that could guide future strategic decisions and grantmaking practices.

At the Transparency and Accountability Initiative (TAI), we are delighted to present the key findings of this evaluation, which include a methodological note and three reports covering the following areas:

We invite you to explore these findings and encourage you to reach out for further discussion or inquiries.
